About Grady's Feet Essentials

Grady's Feet Essentials is located in Peterborough, Ontario Canada. Ken Grady opened our first store in 1984 on Hunter Street called Grady's Orthopedic Service specializing in custom molded orthotics and orthopedic footwear. The next year Ken's son Tony joined the staff and worked for many years studying foot problems, analyzing gait patterns, manufacturing custom molded orthotics and fitting specialized footwear. In 1985 we moved to 386 George Street N. for a bigger location and expanded our selection of footwear to include Birkenstock, Saucony, PW Minor, Finn Comfort, Soft Spots, Romika and more.

In 1998 Ken retired and Tony took over the store and renamed it Grady's Feet Essentials Ltd. It was at this time we stopped manufacturing custom orthotics as we found with new technology ready made orthotic insoles worked just as well and cost much less than custom made products.

In 2003 we expanded our local store and added kiosks in Lansdowne Place Shopping Mall and then in 2005 opened our 2nd location in a regular store in the mall. We quickly learned our customers preferred shopping in the mall location so in September of 2005 we closed our downtown store and focused our energy into the one location!

Today we operate in Lansdowne Place with 6 staff and continue to focus on comfortable shoes and ready made orthotic insoles.
